OLD PHOTOS & POSTCARDS
Sue, one of the members of our group, has been given a number of postcards from a very kind lady in Canada. Before she moved to Canada Diana lived in Prestatyn, North Wales, next door to Sue’s great grandparents Edith & Edmund Fletcher.
Mr & Mrs Fletcher had farmed Stirchley Hall & Cuckoo Oak farms since the turn of last century and moved to Wales on retirement. After Edith’s death in 1952, as she was interested in collecting postcards, Diana was given many cards that had been sent to Edith’s mother, Ann Wall (nee Wright). Diana has now very kindly donated the cards to the Fletcher family. The cards date from the early 20th century – mostly 1901-1914. They are currently being scanned and some will be included in future in the postcard section.
